Megan Bord sent me this video a while back - since then two other friends sent it along as well - a clear indication I am bound to share this.
Ya know, we sort of typically find friends who share commonalities with us, interests, sports, religions etc. Watch this video - an unlikely friendship with all the love and loyalty a true friendship should have, despite enormous differences. How many times in your life did you step outside the "comfort zone" and become friends with someone who is not at all like you? Food for thought from the innocent world of animals.
This was very cute, Suzen. I hadn't seen it before, so thank for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy meeting people from very different background and beliefs. It seems like a great way to learn about the world, right?
I hope all is well in your world, Suzen. Thanks for this lovely story.

Is that is what is possible when we leave the ego behind? That is a very good reason for me to work even harder on booting the ego based thoughts out.
ReplyDeleteWhat gloriously inspiring. I hope your painting goes well and now I come to think if it, you and YOUR dog are quite a pair too aren't you? xox Wilma
If only I didn't live in the most homogeneous place in the world. I'm sure some of my best friends would be elephants!
ReplyDeleteHi, SuZen!
ReplyDeleteI just had to watch it again and smiled when I saw the elephant foot trying to pet the dog's belly. I mean, come on! THAT is trust!
Thank you, SuZen! This warms my heart in so many really good ways. We all need friends, but imagine if everyone we met was a friend? Oh the possibilities...
Much love to you!
I've seen this before and it never gets old. I tear up each and every time. Their love is amazing, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Lori! Great to "see" you again! Glad you enjoyed this video - I think there could be a valuable lesson in judging here? You are so right, to meet and be friends with people outside of our "norm" is a great way to learn about the whole world!
ReplyDeleteHi Wilma! LOL, yes my dog and I are quite the pair, hadn't thought of that! While he isn't nearly the cuddly guy I'd hoped for, we do have a wonderfully close, in sync, intentional and weirdly communicative relationship. And no egos! haha!
Hi Jillian! I hear you! I think we need to LOOK for the elephants - I'm sure they are everywhere! :)
Hi Megan! I read somewhere, decades ago, that we should treat each stranger as if they could be God in disguise - no matter what the scenario. Like that old movie "Oh God" - great way to contribute to world peace I'm thinkin.
Hi Joanne! Yes, indeed, amazing love! Quite the example isn't it? Anything is possible!
Hi SuZen, that was, as the man said, pretty amazing. And I was very interested in your comment about us finding people who share commonalities with us. I had a friend once who said 'I love all your friends, they are so nice' and I turned to him and said 'yes, you are'. He didn't get it for a while....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the journey.
Mandy
Suzen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful example of who we can be friends with! I LOVE it!! So fun to see the dog and the elephant so connected to each other...
We are truly "all one"...
Suzen, I saw this once before and it is truly amazing. Thank you for the reminder. And we may find friends in the most unlikely places - if we keep our hearts open, eh? Love to you and may unlikely friendships be yours!
ReplyDeleteHi SuZen .. thanks for this - great to see an elephant sanctuary .. which the dogs seem to have adopted too .. but not quite the same way as Bella and Tara. Creatures are amazing .. and we know about some of their teamings up - but I'm sure there are many more.
ReplyDeleteIf only we could look out for each other, respect each other and care for each other whereever we are in the world .. how wonderful it would be.
Thanks SuZen for sharing with us .. Hilary
SuZen, I loved this video and thank you for sharing it. It actually brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm passing another on to you that I watched not ago about odd couples. It's about a very young hippo and a very old tortoise. I think you'll like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO5Zc2MYdP0&feature=related
Hi Mandy! Yes, amazing indeed! Makes me want to reach out more. Love is for everyone!
ReplyDeleteHi Lance! You bet we are all one - thanks to Bella and Tara to remind us!
Hi Jan! I had seen this before too - I never tire of the message.
Hi Hilary! Yes I think if only we could really pull this off with as much innocence and love as those two fabulous animals it would be a totally different world!
Hi Sara! Oh thanks so much! I love that song "I've Got You Babe" and those photos, well, beyond precious. So much we can learn from nature! And we think we are in charge? ha! Lousy job we're doing!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzen,
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen this video before, so it was a real treat to watch. The message is so powerful - we can be friends with others no matter how different we are. All we need to do is open our hearts.
I'm still smiling at the video. Thank you!
